BOFFI K21 kitchen
A well-designed and functional kitchen can make your life easier and save you time and effort. Inspired by this concept, designer Norbert Wangen, created the innovative K21 model, which revolutionized the concept of the compact kitchen in the K series created for Boffi.
BOFFI K21 Kitchen: Technical Features and Materials
Modular base units, which can be used as wall-mounted elements or as peninsulas or islands, have no handle and are equipped with specially shaped wrap-around fronts that conceal the thickness of the countertop when the doors are closed.
This gives the whole an extremely monolithic and defined appearance, further emphasized by the presence of a countertop with a sink effect.
The doors are opened by an upper protrusion of the front, which acts as a handle. With high-capacity drawers or pot-and-pan drawers, opening is provided by a central extruded aluminum handle-rail.
The Boffi K21 kitchen represents a new step forward in the design research of Norbert Wangen, who wanted to maintain the aesthetics of the kitchen-monolith through versatile compositional solutions.
Thanks to some aesthetic changes, such as an increase in the height of the top and a slight protrusion that acts as a handle, the profile of the top is completely hidden from view, contributing to a solution of extreme formal cleanliness.
In addition, the countertop is slightly recessed with a tub, enclosed by a thin frame in a minimalist and harmonious composition.
The K21 series focuses on ergonomics, with special attention to the handle section to ensure easy and comfortable door opening. Wooden peninsulas integrate seamlessly with the top, creating additional work areas.

The K21 inspired by the informal life that sets us apart, is an elegant and minimalist island kitchen that Norbert Wangen calls a sculpture, in that by combining simple monoblocks with each other we have true compact islands, each with separate specific functions.
The designer in a very simple and minimalist way manages to give a new vision of the kitchen, no longer that cumbersome structure that needs a lot of space to work at its best, but a contained and innovative kitchen that adapts to every situation.
