CTO Lighting presents Modulo by Federico Peri in SAG'80 showroom
Refinement, innovation and craftsmanship are the characteristics that unite SAG'80 and CTO Lighting, an English company known throughout the world for the production of luxury lighting. For the upcoming edition of the Design Week - Supersalone in September, the British luxury brand will present a preview of the new Modulo collection, created in collaboration with the designer Federico Peri, inside the SAG'80 showroom in via Boccaccio 4.
The CTO Lighting company, a perfect mix of custom-made solutions and precious materials
Refined design, precious materials that guarantee excellent performance and customized lighting solutions. All this has meant that CTO Lighting entered the Olympus of the world's leading companies for the production of luxury lighting. Founded in 1998 by Chris and Clare Turner, the brand took its first steps in the world of lighting design, immediately distinguishing itself thanks to the combination of the technical experience of the first, an engineer in the sector, and his wife's passion for design. The ever-increasing demand for luxury materials of the lighting sector then pushed them to use new solutions with handmade brass, mouth-blown glass, bronze, and alabaster. Here are therefore products of the highest level that take inspiration from both nature and architecture, handcrafted by expert craftsmen with the aim of creating elegant and expressive lamps, with attention to the smallest detail. Among the best-known custom-made lighting systems are the Savoy Hotel, the Dorchester London, the St. Pancras Renaissance Hotel and the Children Firehouse. The British company also collaborates with designers such as Philippe Starck, David Collins Studio, Martin Brudnizki Design Studio for the realization of prestigious interior projects around the world.
Modulo, the lighting system inspired by the Meccano
It is the new collection of chandeliers, suspension and wall lamps, born from the collaboration between the famous Italian designer Federico Peri and CTO Lighting. A synergy that has seen both draw on the DNA of one another, on craftsmanship, on sober and precious luxury, made from authentic and refined materials, sophisticated lines and precise geometric shapes. Federico Peri, born in Montebelluna (Treviso) in 1983, innovative designer and delicate interpreter of the furniture universe, manages to capture the essence of the object in the sign of inherent elegance, through a constant work of subtraction and simplification, in search of forms that aspire to eternity. He loves to express himself with products of the highest quality, creating expressive pieces, full of creative lyricism. For this collection, the designer was inspired by his childhood in the 80s, spent in his grandfather's metal shelving factory, where little Peri played with metal components as if they were his Meccano pieces.
In fact, Modulo also accomplishes the principle of construction: the glass modules are combined to give life to different shapes. They can thus be arranged linearly, creating unusual suspended light sculptures. For this collection, the designer has experimented with the concept of connectivity, choosing fine materials, such as the decorated and opal glass of the diffusers, which contrast with the brass of the supporting structure, creating a collection of great charm. Each of the smoked tempered glass bases is a unique handcrafted piece, knurled and slightly darkened. The glass module, similar to a jewel, is supported by hand-finished brass strips, which add decorative power to the supporting structure. The eleven diffusers of the chandelier, suspended on an elegant reticular structure, recalling pure brilliance.
The horizontal and vertical suspension elements can be mounted alone or in groups, creating unusual compositions, where all the attention is focused on the vertical element. The wall lamps are offered with one, two or three glass lampshades to create customized compositions. A lighting system, that of Modulo, configured in such a way as to allow maximum versatility in any type of space. The entire collection is illuminated by LED lights with adjustable intensity, protected by graphic-style opal glass diffusers.
