Kitchens are characterized by their large size in order to have more work space in which to prepare food and more storage space for utensils and ingredients. However, often due to personal needs or because space does not allow it, one cannot opt for large kitchens, but that does not mean one has to give up a sophisticated and comfortable structure on which to cook.
BOFFI Minikitchen: Technical Features and Materials
Designer Joe Colombo realized this need as early as 1963, anticipating the changes in modern society and living trends.
The Minikitchen represents the perfect synthesis of functionality, aesthetics and innovation, becoming a work of design that has revolutionized the concept of the compact kitchen.
Joe Colombo’s design for the Minikitchen is essential and rational, featuring clean lines and high-quality materials.
The current version of Minikitchen does not differ much from the original design except for some details and materials: the self-supporting plastic laminate frame, available in different finishes and colors, is equipped with two swivel casters and two self-locking casters. The kitchen also contains:
- A 60-liter refrigerator,
- An electric hotplate,
- A stainless steel sink,
- cutting board,
- Power outlets for small household appliances.
It measures just over one meter wide, one meter high, 650 mm deep.
