Although not trained in art or design, Tom Dixon soon began to investigate the potential of recycled materials. From here the step is quick to its international recognition. In 1991 his “Space” became a real design studio that has been hosting exhibitions of young designers’ creations since 1994. In the same year, his interest in plastics was born and he debuted in the market with a line of extruded plastic products. Exploring the use of a wide range of materials and manufacturing processes, the Tom Dixon collection is full of modern furniture with eye-catching designs all inspired by Britain’s unique heritage.
